Biography
Born in 1982, Sayre Gomez works in a variety of media including sculpture, sound, video, installation, and painting. He earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2005, and MFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2008. He also studied under the creative wing of the late conceptual artist Michael Asher. Gomez is represnted by François Ghebaly Gallery in Los Angeles, Michael Jon Gallery in Miami, Galerie Parisa Kind in Frankfurt, and Galerie Nagel Draxler in Cologne/Berlin. As part of his ongoing painting practise, Gomez has created a series of abstract pieces for Absolut Art. By spraying layers of colour, he has created works that feel ethereal, undefinable and vividly balanced in their seemingly random arrangement.
