Rose Madone is born in 1993. She currently lives and works in Barcelona.
Fond of dramatic literature (Greek mythology, Shakespeare) as well as psychology, Rose Madone loves to observe and analyze the world around her. Her work tries to capture feelings, emotions and life experiences in an allegoric, poetic and minimalist way.
Instinctual painter, Rose Madone follows her impulse: “I build my accumulation works in a very spontaneous way. Rough patch, joy and sadness… I use the canvas to exhaust emotions.”
With no false pretense, her drawings are simple, made in white, black or beige. With shapes easily apprehensible, she looks to illustrate the complexity of human life in all its psychological and experiential depth.
Rose Madone’s art uncovers our dark side, without however exposing the whole personality of her subjects, since each one is so different and unpredictable.
Her “artistic philosophy” is to touch the audience and share the emotions she feels everyday without however tackling or confronting them too directly. For her, the society we live in is devoted to selfishness. We loose ourselves in our own lies, as well as in the illusion of a perfect world.
In her creations, Rose denounces self-delusion, pretense to happiness through social media or even real life.
Putting everyone in front of the mirror and of one’s own reality to confront it, reach a higher spiritual state and break out of self-ignorance is the challenge and purpose of her work.
In the end, art is a therapy through which she spontaneously expresses herself in order to understand, evolve and not drag on the things that way on her.
The artist hopes to embark the viewer in that kind of introspective mindset when looking at her work. To her, knowing, accepting and forgiving oneself is one of the keys to self-understanding.
Depression, sadness, nostalgia, sorrow and melancholia are emotions we generally hide. Rose tries to tone them down and make them beautiful; because in the end, we need to live our life to the fullest in order to appreciate simple things.
Rose Madone combines different styles to express herself…. She uses abstract, street art and minimalism to interpret the complexity of daily emotions. Through this blend of different styles, the artist tries to capture the multifaceted emotional intensity that characterizes each new experience in life.
“We are born dust and die dust, so why lie to yourself and try to make up a personality or a life that is not yours?”, Rose Madone wonders. Why being ashamed or afraid to show that we are “weak” and “vulnerable”?
Expressing human neurosis and inner quest is her source of inspiration… her art is like a call to honesty and self-love.
For Rose Madone, sharing her emotions -good or bad-, showing her feelings and revealing her inner demons is a good way to gather people who often feel lonely, abandoned or misunderstood… she fights for truth because she is convinced that one cannot reach happiness without lucidity.
Her art sheds light on forgotten and unspoken emotions. She invites us to accept them to remind ourselves that we are all human beings and not computers following the laws of appearances and Instagram…
