Biography
Roberto Miniati was born in Rome in 1952, where he lives and works today. Since childhood, a passion for art and collecting has allowed him to get in touch with curators and experts in the field. This passion and contact lead him to undertake his personal pictorial activity. Among his solo shows: Affinità selettive in 2015 held at the Sala del Basolato in Fiesole and Nulla dies sine linea in 2014 held at the National Museum Villa Pisani in Stra. Notable too were his significant contribution and participation at the Venice Biennale of Art in 2017 and 2015 in the National Pavilion of Guatemala and at the Triennial of Visual Arts in Rome in 2017 and 2014. In 2019 Miniati takes part in the 58th Biennale di Venezia, showing at the collective exhibition of the Grenada Pavilion. His works are the result of a virtual dialogue with the artists of the historical avant-gardes of the 20th century. The flows of geometric abstractionism, American expressionism and the post-World War II artists become sources of inspiration for Miniati who, despite his influences, demonstrates his own style. The result is a painting made up of a compositional architecture mirroring his inner labyrinth. His paintings, always coherent with a research in continuous evolution, are not thought of, but mediated inwardly.
