Nevil Dwek is a native New Yorker. His works are a collective fusion of his background as a professional in narrative filmmaking, photography and music. The works consists of photos, paintings and writings that have been photographed and arranged together. The images are UV printed to metal sheets and mounted to a maple paneled or aluminum box. With a surrealistic approach, some prints have some sculptural work done as well. Nevil’s recent series are a visual interpretation that delves into the processes, re-memberings and reconstruction of recollected thoughts. While we may choose to ignore a memory, whether it comes to us as an image, a sound perhaps, or through a multiplicity of thoughts, it is concealed but relevant. As memories re-emerge, we look at them differently, realizing the significant ways in which we have been shaped.
