Julianne Jonker
JuliAnne Jonker grew up surrounded by a family of jazz musicians and creatives, learning to operate through improvisation from her earliest years. Those values shaped her creative life as she fluidly moved between disciplines – drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. Since childhood she was drawn to the human form and nature as subjects, seeking to capture their spirituality. Julianne studied classical and contemporary fine art with master artists domestically and abroad including Daniel Gerhartz, Stephen Early and Stanka Kordic. Throughout her career she has enjoyed extensive recognition for her efforts. Her work has been featured in publications such as Fine Art Connoisseur, Encaustic Arts and Wax Fusion. She has most recently exhibited at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Chaffey Museum of Art. Her work is currently available through 33 Contemporary Gallery in Chicago, IL, and Grande Gallery in Edina, MN and can be viewed in the permanent collection of the Museum of Encaustic Art in Santa Fe, NM.
