Laurencena was born in 1950 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Plastic artist who has focused most of her artistic research around painting, the behavior of light and the decontextualization of objects, giving them value for themselves in terms of their formal capacities. He is a tireless observer of details, a student of photography, with a commitment and constant commitment to pictorial language, for him inexhaustible. At an early age, in the late 70s, he left his hometown to move to New York, where he consolidated his artistic language and where he remained until the late 90s. Initially, he worked hand in hand with important advertising houses, filmmakers and painters. While in New York, his work attracts the attention of prominent personalities in the art world, as a result he begins to participate in individual and group exhibitions, and his works are integrated into important international collections such as those of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. , Museum of Modern Art of Sao Paulo, National Museum of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires, among others. During his stay in New York, he intermittently travels to different cities in which he participates individually and collectively in exhibitions and artistic projects. He returns to Buenos Aires in 1999 where he achieves the success and recognition that he had previously obtained abroad. That same year he is invited to Switzerland where he also holds a solo exhibition at the Gallerie Eberhard. At the end of the 90s he definitely left New York and moved to Miami for a short period, finally, in 2000, visiting Mexico City and deciding to remain there until today. A couple of years after his arrival, he held a solo exhibition with which he formally presented his work to the artistic world of this country. In 2012 he inaugurated an exhibition made expressly for the National Museum of Art, where his work establishes a dialogue with specific works from the collection of this enclosure. This exhibition remains open to the public until May of the following year. He is currently working on different projects, the most important of which is, due to his reach to the Monterrey public, an individual exhibition in which he will present his latest work. His artistic production has been worthy of recognitions such as those of the Constantini Collection, Novartis, Telecom, Universidad de Belgrano, among others. His work is found in countries such as the United States, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Switzerland, France, Spain, Canada, Italy, Belgium and Uruguay.
