Biography
Eduard Steinberg is a Russian painter known for his geometrical abstract paintings. As with Yuri Kuper and Oleg Tselkov, Steinberg rejected Socialist Realist style and actively participated in the Russian Non-Conformist movement. For Steinberg, there was a correlation between his meta-geometry abstraction and the emotive response it trigger. Though Steinberg was bolder in his use of color, he was heavily influenced by the De Stijl movement. Steinberg's work has been exhibited widely and is present in many museums around the world, including a permanent room in the collection of the St Petersburg Hermitage Museum.
