Blake Wood's photographic work focuses on a deep connection to others, objects and environments—the underlying energy created through intimacy, empathy and experience. By documenting his life through a series of portraits, he communicates the intricacy of these relationships and the ephemeral moments often difficult to describe, utilizing natural and available light to reflect the true- to-life nature of his work. He is a New York based artist and his work has been exhibited in nationally and internationally. He published his first book of photography, Amy Winehouse by Blake Wood with Taschen in 2018. His work has appeared in publications such as The Guardian, Dazed and Confused, Vogue, V Magazine, Billboard Magazine, and the New York Times.
