Brooklyn-based artist Bast has been involved for quite a long time throughout the urban landscape of New York, amongst other cities, essentially in Europe. The elusive artist appropriates iconic images from 20th- and 21st-century mass culture, creating collages that mash up classic cartoon characters, fast food branding, and sex advertisements into biting satires of consumer culture. His work has been in several group shows from Tokyo to Berlin, to London & obviously New York. Nowadays his recognition into galleries establishments is crystal clear; in the past decade Bast has presented several solo shows in some of the biggest Contemporary Art galleries worldwide.
