Anton Kern Gallery represents 34 contemporary artists from Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia, South America, and the United States. The gallery has established an exhibition program of mostly one-person shows and has developed very good relationships with international collectors and institutions. Anton Kern Gallery was established in 1996 in New York with the intention to exhibit the work of young and emerging artists, and to bring it to the attention of a large audience as well as collectors and museums. Over the past twenty-four years, the gallery has consistently worked with a core group of artists and was able to successfully build their careers. Artists who were once emerging are now in their mid-careers, many with one-person museum shows and publications to their credit, and major works placed in international private and museum collections. The gallery has participated in all major international art fairs, such as Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, The Armory Show, FIAC, Frieze London and Frieze New York. Some of the gallery's artists have been invited to exhibitions such as the Carnegie International (John Bock, Saul Fletcher, Nicole Eisenman, Mark Grotjahn, Richard Hughes, Matthew Monahan, Manfred Pernice, Wilhelm Sasnal, David Shrigley), the Biennale di Venezia (John Bock, Matthew Monahan, Alessandro Pessoli, Erik van Lieshout, Nicole Eisenman), Whitney Biennial (Mark Grotjahn, Nicole Eisenman, Matthew Monahan, Shio Kusaka), Documenta (Anne Collier, John Bock, Nicole Eisenman, Marcel Odenbach), and Skulpture Projects Münster (Manfred Pernice and Nicole Eisenman).
